ACUPUNCTURE
In traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture treatment is not just using standard acupuncture needles. It also includes: seven star needles, cupping, moxibustion, etc. together for better results. MOXIBUSTION
The Chinese character for acupuncture, translated into English literally, means "acupuncture-moxibustion." Moxibustion has been used throughout Asia for thousands of years. Moxa sticks are made from the mugwort herb. The purpose of burning moxa sticks is to facilitate healing by strengthening the blood and stimulating the flow of qi. Moxibustion treatment often makes people feel very relaxed and comfortable. also includes: seven star needles, cupping, moxibustion, etc. together for better results. CUPPING THERAPY
In Chinese Medicine, cupping can affect tissues up to four inches deep from the external skin, and it is regarded as one of the best deep-tissue therapies available. It can remove harmful substances and toxins from body, clear blockages, and enable the blood and energy to travel to afflicted areas to begin the healing process. Cupping may leave some marks on the skin. These will usually disappear within several hours, but it could take several days for the marks to go away. For weight loss and cellulite treatments, oil is first applied to the skin, and then the cups are moved up and down the surrounding area. Cupping can also be used to relieve respiratory conditions, clear congestion, or control asthma.
SEVEN STAR NEEDLE
The Seven-Star needle, also known as a Plum-Blossom needle, is a single needle with seven small prongs at the end. It is used with a gentle and rapid tapping motion on the skin or head which feels surprisingly relaxing during treatment. Though generally soft, it may cause slight discomfort directly on the skin, so it’s important for the patient to let the practitioner know about any uncomfortable feelings or sensations. For those with sensitive skin, it may cause a mild redness or rash which will usually resolve quickly. It is used in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, plantar fasciitis, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and arthritis.
EAR NEEDLE & EAR SEEDS
According to Chinese Medicine, the acupuncture ear points correspond to each part of the body. When a point is stimulated, the qi, or energy, in the related organ or area will be stimulated as well. This performs a therapeutic function. Ear needles can only be done at the clinic, but ear seeds allow patients continue treatment at home for a longer period of healing time. Ear seeds can be used alone or in combination with acupuncture. It is often used for weight loss and overcoming addictions like smoking and drug addiction.
INDIVIDUALIZED HERB FORMULAS
There are hundreds of classic Chinese herbal formulas that Chinese Medicine doctors in China must memorize. Because each individual's symptoms, causes, and reactions are all different, individualized herbal formulas are given based on the Chinese medicine doctor's diagnosis, and are modified from the classic herbal formulas by adding or subtracting herbs to make it more specific to the individual and their condition. At EHE Clinic, individualized herb forumlas are given based on the patient's problems and treatment needs. It can be used alone or combined with acupuncture treatments.
